: eye candy : water color and calligraphy wall art

My friend just moved into a new place and asked me to make her some wall art using one of her favorite quotes! I’m still not amazing at calligraphy yet, but I gave it a shot, and I always like to mess around with watercolors so I thought i’d try that also! I am still not sure if they are rough drafts or final drafts! I could make a million different versions, it is so hard to decide on just one! This is what I have come up with so far –

: D eye Y : Mini Succulent Planter

layour

I’m a little obsessed with succulents. Even though i’m pretty sure they are super easy to keep alive, I have a bad track record with killing the cute little things. I bought a few of them at the grocery store the other day and didn’t know what I should plant them in until I found this awesome cement planter at Target! It’s the perfect size for the mantel above my fireplace, but I thought I could spice it up a little bit, and this is what I came up with! Here’s hoping I can keep this one alive! 🙂

what you will need:

  • succulent of your choice
  • any cement/ceramic planter you want (I got mine from Target for $7)
  • nail polish color of your choice (mine is american apparel-summer peach)
  • paint pen (sharpie metallic gold)
  • washi tape

*you can use paint pen/nail polish for both colors if you want

: eye candy : fruit patterns

I don’t know if it is the unusually long winter we had here in Texas, or the fact that the past view days have finally been amazingly warm, but I have just been obsessed with these brightly colored fruit patterns! Just looking at them gets me super excited for summer and want to whip up a smoothie or a fun cocktail!
